Year 6b IntoUniversity
The children had an amazing time exploring the world of engineering, learning about a range of fields including robotics, civil, environmental and automotive engineering. They also discovered how bridge structures work and experimented with ways to strengthen their own designs.
As part of the experience, the children visited the Farrell Centre in Newcastle, where they learned about architecture and how buildings differ around the world. They also gained a valuable insight into university life, exploring the wide range of courses available and discussing options such as living at home or moving away.
The week ended with a fantastic day at Newcastle University, where the children enjoyed a campus tour led by student ambassadors. They then proudly performed presentations about influential figures they had researched throughout the week in front of their families.
The graduation ceremony was a perfect way to celebrate such a memorable experience. A huge thank you to all the IntoUniversity staff who made the week so special!
