Year 6a IntoUniversity Days 4 and 5

Year 6A have had an incredibly exciting and busy week working with IntoUniversity, developing new skills while having lots of fun along the way.

Yesterday, the children explored what university life is really like. They spent time looking through university prospectuses to discover the wide range of courses available and began thinking about the subjects they might like to study in the future and where they might want to go. They also learned about different types of student accommodation and the many extracurricular activities that universities offer. Inspired by everything they had discovered, the children then produced a thoughtful piece of writing about their own dreams and aspirations for the future. In the afternoon, they worked together to prepare presentations that summarised everything they had learned throughout the week, getting ready to share their work at their graduation ceremony.

Today, the class had the exciting opportunity to visit Northumbria University, where they took part in a campus tour. During the visit, the children explored a variety of facilities designed to support students in their learning and were able to speak to current university students about their experiences. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to see first-hand what university life can be like.

The week concluded with a special graduation ceremony, where the children proudly presented what they had learned to their parents. It was a wonderful way to celebrate all of their hard work and achievements.

Year 6A have worked incredibly hard throughout the week and truly shone in everything they did. They should all feel extremely proud of what they have accomplished. Well done, Year 6A! 🎓✨
