Year 6a - IntoUniversity

Today was our first session with IntoUniversity with the focus being on careers in engineering. During the morning, we were split into groups and looked at the different types of engineering and had to complete a task relating to that particular area of engineering. The children learnt how to create the strongest and tallest free-standing tower as well as discovering what was the more effective way to clear up after an oil spill. In the afternoon, we then each looked at a different well-known engineer and found out about their life and career before completing a piece of writing all about them. This will then be used tomorrow as part of our tasks for day 2.
