Year 2B: Technology Around Us
Year 2B have been busy developing their computing skills through our Technology Around Us topic. The children began by exploring what technology is and recognising that technology includes things made by people to help us. They also discussed how to stay safe when using technology, including protecting personal information and asking an adult for help when needed.
The children learned to identify the different parts of a computer, including the screen, keyboard, mouse and base unit, as well as understanding the importance of passwords. They developed their mouse and trackpad control, learning how to click, select tools and click and drag when creating work using Paintz.app.
Throughout the topic, we have focused on using technology safely, respectfully and responsibly. The children have worked hard to become increasingly confident computer users, and we are very proud of the computing skills they have developed!
