Year 1 Puppet making workshop
On Thursday, Year 1 enjoyed a fantastic puppet-making workshop with the Theatre Royal. The children had a wonderful time learning about the three mascots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and discussing what makes a mascot fun, memorable and exciting. They shared lots of brilliant ideas and showed great enthusiasm throughout the session.
After exploring the mascots, the children became designers themselves! Using socks and a wide variety of materials, they created their very own mascot sock puppets. The KS1 hall was filled with creativity as the children carefully planned and decorated their unique designs.
The workshop encouraged the children to use their imagination, develop their fine motor skills and work creatively with different textures and materials. We were so impressed by their focus, teamwork and confidence when sharing their finished puppets with the class.
A huge thank you to the Theatre Royal team for leading such an engaging and inspiring workshop. The children were incredibly proud of their creations and had a memorable afternoon full of fun, creativity and learning.
