Year 1, Autumn 1 RE

This half term in RE, our topic has been 'How do people show they belong?'.  We began by thinking about where we feel we belong and what is special to us. Then, we were introduced to two children, Danny and Sarah. Danny is a Christian, and he shared with us what it means to belong to the Christian faith. We also learned about Baptism and its significance for Christians.  Sarah introduced us to Judaism and helped us understand some important aspects of her faith.

Before finishing our topic, we listened to the story of Noah’s Ark, which appears in both the Bible and the Torah. We had a discussion about the key messages in the story before recording our thoughts through shared writing.

Finally, we ended this half terms RE by thinking about everything we had learned about Sarah and Danny.
