Winter in Reception 2026

In Reception, we have been learning all about winter. We have talked about how snow melts and changes into water, and we have experimented with melting and breaking ice in the water tray. The children built ice castles for Jack Frost using white paper cups.

We have also learned about the artist Wassily Kandinsky and created paintings inspired by his work, using cold colours. The children have loved exploring the outdoor areas in the snow and ice as well.
