Welcome to Reception Class
What an exciting start to the school year it has been in our Reception class! Over the past two weeks, the children have settled in beautifully, exploring their new environment with curiosity, confidence, and lots of smiles.
From the moment they arrived, the children have been busy making new friends, learning classroom routines, and taking part in a wide range of fun and engaging activities. We've had story time, creative play, messy painting, water exploration, music and movement, and even our first adventures in the outdoor learning area!
The Reception team has been so impressed by how quickly the children have adapted to school life. They're learning to share, take turns, and work together – all while developing their early phonics, number recognition, and fine motor skills.
A few highlights from the past two weeks:
-
Our “All About Me” activity where children created self-portraits with traditional pens and paper and also with natural resources in the tuff tray.
-
Exploring the role play area, which has already been a home corner and a shop.
-
Daily phonics fun, with games to help with sound recognition and early reading.
Thank you to all our families for helping make the transition into Reception so smooth. We’re excited to see how much our children will grow in confidence, independence, and ability over the coming weeks. Here's to a fantastic year of learning ahead!
