Reception Forest School Summer 2026

Our Reception children had a fantastic time during their recent Forest School session. Working together with their classroom adults, the children teamed up to build shelters in the woodland area.

Each group decided to create a teepee-style den, using trees in the centre to help keep their structures strong and upright. Once the shelters were built, the children worked collaboratively to collect natural materials such as leaves, moss and grass. They carefully used these materials to camouflage their dens and help make them waterproof.

The activity encouraged teamwork, problem-solving and creativity, and the children showed excellent perseverance as they worked together to improve their shelters. We were incredibly proud of how well everyone collaborated and supported one another throughout the session.
