Reception Chinese New Year Celebration
Our Reception children have been busy learning about Chinese New Year and exploring the traditions in lots of fun and creative ways!
They took part in an exciting dragon dance around the KS1 area, working together to bring the dragon to life. The children also teamed up with their friends to build their own version of the Great Wall of China, showing great teamwork and imagination.
In our creative activities, the children made repeating patterns on red playdough snakes and painted beautiful, colourful dragons. They also practised their fine motor skills by using chopsticks to pick up noodles—this was a big hit!
The home corner was transformed into a celebration space where the children enjoyed role-playing family celebrations. We even explored the Chinese zodiac story by testing which animals would float or sink, making predictions and talking about what happened.
It has been a joyful week full of learning, creativity and fun. Well done, Reception!
