Nursery Rhyme Time

This half term, we are having lots of fun exploring and learning a variety of traditional nursery rhymes. Our first focus has been the much-loved Humpty Dumpty!
The children have been busy learning the words and singing the rhyme together. We have also created actions to help us remember the words and bring the rhyme to life.
We have explored Humpty Dumpty through lots of exciting activities and play. The children used spoons to carefully catch eggs in the water tray, developing their coordination and fine motor skills. We also created colourful egg-shaped collages using ripped pieces of paper, helping us to practise our finger strength and creativity.
Our Playdough area has been very popular too! The children have made their own Humpty Dumpty characters, using their imaginations to create and talk about their models. We have also been busy building walls using wooden blocks, thinking carefully about how to make them strong enough for Humpty Dumpty to sit on.
It has been wonderful to see the children enjoying the rhyme in so many different ways. Through singing, movement, creative activities and imaginative play, we are developing our language, communication, physical and creative skills while having lots of fun along the way!
We can't wait to discover which nursery rhyme we will explore next!
