Children's Mental Health Week
The theme for Children's Mental Health Week 2026 has been This is My Place and the aim has been to support children to help them to feel that they belong. The children in the Star Suite have been focusing on what it means to belong.
We began the week talking about our families and how we are all an important part of a family. This includes people who live with us, our wider families and our pets.
Next, we thought about our class and the friends we have made. All of the children made a self-portrait which will be displayed as part of a class mosaic to remind us that, although we are all individuals, we belong to one class. We made friendship cards and bracelets for our friends. We enjoyed working together and playing alongside each other to make models, to share books and to play games.
Finally, we talked about our wider school community and the people within it. We looked at photographs of different people in school and talked about how they help others. We decided that everyone has an important role to play. We have had a fantastic week learning about how we belong to different communities. We know that everyone is important and feeling that we belong makes us happy.
