Back to school - Year 2A

Year 2A have made a fantastic and smooth transition back to school and have been trying so hard as they settle into their new year group and curriculum. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, resilience and positive attitudes towards their learning.

In English, we have been getting creative by writing our own acrostic poems all about animals. The children have enjoyed choosing their favourite animals and carefully selecting words to describe them. We are now beginning our exciting ‘Grammasaurus’ unit, where we will be developing our understanding of grammar and learning lots of new skills.

In Maths, we have been learning all about multiples of 10. The children have particularly enjoyed lots of practical activities, which have helped them to explore, practise and consolidate this new concept in an engaging way.

Our Fridays have been extra special too as we have loved having an NUFC coach join us for our PE sessions. The children have shown great enthusiasm and teamwork and are thoroughly enjoying developing their football skills.

One of the biggest highlights of our learning so far has been our Science topic on the senses. We have had lots of fun exploring how our senses help us to understand the world around us. The tasting session was certainly a favourite and gave us plenty to talk about!

We are so proud of how brilliantly Year 2A have started the new school year and cannot wait to see what they achieve next!
