Ambic Manufacturing STEM Challenge

Year 2 loved their STEM day today.  The day started with the class talking about their career aspirations.  After that, they learnt about Ambic Manufacturing and the different roles that exist within the company.  

Then the pupils were given the task of having to build a bridge that was strong enough to hold an Ambic Manufacturing mug.  To make the task more realistic, the children had to fill out a purchase order - using their budget to buy the all the materials they needed to build their bridge.  It certainly help focus their attention as each group drew their designs and discussed how they would ensure their bridge was sturdy.

Once all the bridges were built, the children enjoyed testing their bridges to see if they were sturdy enough to hold the Ambic mug. Amazingly, they all were.  A great ending to the perfect day!
