How do we know what Queen Elizabeth 1st looked like?

During the 'Terrible Tudors' topic, the Y3/4 children have been studying the artwork of Tudor times. They studied various portraits of Queen Elizabeth 1st to gain an understanding of what she looked like. They even found out that Queen Elizabeth would demand to be painted in a specific style. The children combined materials to create a collage of Queen Elizabeth 1st. They worked hard in groups of three, observing the patterns, colours and textures of Elizabeth the 1st clothing to produce some fantastic pieces of art.
