School Council Junior Network Meeting
On 4th November, the School Council were invited to a Junior Network Meeting at The Baltic in Gateshead. Whilst there, they had the opportunity to admire the fantastic Turner Prize entries. They also created some artwork themselves in the style of George Shaw. Alongside the Turner Prize, each School Council produced a piece of artwork on the theme of 'What Gateshead Means To Me'. Our School Council asked the pupils of Wardley what Gateshead meant to them, and used this as the basis of their artwork. After each child voted for their favourite piece, the top four were put forward to a panel which included the Mayor of Gateshead. Our efforts paid off as we made it through to the final, and were eventually chosen as the overall winners!!! A huge congratulations to all of the pupils in Wardley Primary School as they all contributed to the piece, either by putting their ideas forward or creating the artwork.

I was assigned to your school to take photos of the day and the young students were an absolute joy to work with. I think I was almost as delighted as they were when they won! They were a credit to the school, their parents and themselves. Well done Wardley!
