Thornley Woods
Today has been the first installment of the Year 1/2 trip to Thornley woods. We hiked through th beautiful woods looking at the scenery and always keeping our eyes peeled for those infamous red kites. When we finally reached the clearing we were surrounded but the huge birds of prey. They were gliding all around us, we couldn't believe how close they were flying to us! We used our binoculars to get an even better view. It was pretty cold, be we managed to brave it. We walked back to the centre for lunch, we had definately earned it from all the walking we had done. After lunch it was off to the bird hide for some more bird spotting. We only managed to see some squirrels and robins. Finally we walked deeper into the woods and were set a challenge to create pictures using only the natural materials around us.
