February Stay and Play in Nursery

CIMG4498.JPG
In the first half of the Spring term in the Foundation Stage, the topic we have been covering is "Story time". Each week the children were introduced or reintroduced to a traditional story. The stories were read, retold, acted, watched, played and explored by the staff and children. In nursery, the children loved to hate the "Big, Bad Wolf" from Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs. They investigated porridge oats, how to scoop and pour them and also how to make a delicious bowlful to eat; just like the ones Goldilocks and the Three Bears enjoyed.
The sandpit became a mine full of shining jewels for the children to dig for with the help of seven little men and we used a computer program to decorate a gingerbread man, luckily, before he ran away.
The last week of the half term was very exciting as the parents and carers were invited into nursery to "stay and play" and share some of the story activities that their children have enjoyed over the last few weeks. You can see from our photos that everyone had a great time!
