How do you look after a pet dog?

As part of the 'Carnival of Animals' topic, the children have been finding out about how to take care of different animals. To support this learning, the children experienced a visit from Louise Close, an Education Officer from the Dogs Trust and her rescue dog, Bailey. The Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Their mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life.

Louise showed how to take care of a dog, like Bailey, in order to keep it happy and healthy. This included finding out about food, water, cleaning, grooming and how to exercise dogs.

The children enjoyed meeting Bailey and giving him lots of strokes. I think Bailey really enjoyed it too!
