Funny for Money! Red Nose Day

Wardley Primary had a Silly Day on Friday 13th March to raise as much money as we could for Comic Relief.

We all came to school in our pyjamas and tried hard not to fall asleep! There was no time for sleeping though, there was so much fun to be had! Read on to find out more about our silly day...

At playtime, KS2 and then the EYFS and KS1 did a silly giant conga around the playgrounds, led by Mr Malik. We all had a really fun time, singing and dancing!

We also has a Copper Competition- everybody brought in their spare copper coins to put into the giant sweet jars. Each phase had a jar to fill and the winning prize was sweets donated by Mrs Howe. The Early Years children managed to fill not only one but half fill another jar and were crowned the winners of the competition!

Miss Shields Healthy Eating Club had a red themed day and made and sold a range of red healthy snacks. Some parents made a selection of cakes and biscuits for the children.

The children really enjoyed taking part in a range of red silly activities throughout the day, including baking, ICT based games on the Comic Relief website and arts and crafts activities.

Thank you to all parents, carers, children and teachers for their generous contributions. A total of over £500 was raised for the charity! Well done to all.

The day was great. The best part was definetly the Y5/6 footie match. Go girls!
