Who lives in a house like this?
The Year One and Two children have been building models of houses in Wardley. After walking around Wardley to investigate the different types of homes found in the local area, the children had to design, build and evaluate a Wardley home.
Using dowelling, the children built a cube shaped frame. Triangular pieces of card were glued to strengthen the joints on the frames.
Once the frames had dried, the children add features, such as, opening doors, windows, alarms and guttering to make their model homes more realistic. These were then attached to the model home. The children evaluated their models, deciding what they liked and didn't like and how they could improve their work.
The children have also been building model homes using different construction kits.
