The voice of Wardley school children.

Hi, we’re Wardley’s School's 2007 - 2008 School Council

Lauren has remained our Chairperson and we had a secret ballot to nominate the Vice Chair person and the Secretary. It was a joint tie between Courtney Cairns and Aidan Willis therefore Lauren asked a series of questions to choose the most suitable candidate and Aidan was selected. Chloe Baxter now takes the role of Secretary.

Our Newly elected Council is as follows:

Yr 1/2a = Amy Kell and Amy McCartney
Yr 1/2b = Oliver Barnett and Anna McBride
Yr 1/2c = Ryan Carter and Ben Frizzel
Yr 3/4a = Chloe Baxter and Cameron Carter
Yr 3/4b = Megan Burnett and Bethany Clark
Yr 3/4c = Courtney Cairns and Jack Tweddell
Yr 5/6a = Lauren Elderbrant and Rebecca Graham
Yr 5/6b = Charlotte Park and Nichola Hay
Yr 5/6c = Aidan Willis and Cameron Scott

How does it work?

Within Wardley, the children have a voice via their school council. Members were elected entirely by the children.

Our council meet every 2 weeks to discuss the latest issues occurring around school. The children deal with these as they see appropriate and Mrs Dixon acts as the link between staff and pupils. Our committee meet every week to set an agenda for the council to work on, and the minutes can be seen below.

A Safe Place To Be

Our aim for children Staying Safe is as follows:
The ethos of the school ensures that children feel safe and secure. Positive relationships allow pupils who feel threatened, to confide in staff who can then give appropriate support based on clear and effective systems. Children have a developed capacity to assess risks and respond sensibly to ensure that they and others are safe from harm.
